VIOLET

The Violet had its maiden voyage in 2019.  It can accommodate 12 passengers. 

Heritage Line’s family of boutique cruise ships includes “Three Sisters” in Halong Bay, the youngest of whom is the coquettish Violet. The Violet is named after the beautiful Violet Chirita, a delicate purple-flowered plant that grows nowhere else but on the rocky slopes of Halong Bay. Like her namesake, this ship is small and exquisite.

With just six luxurious cabins, the Violet gives visitors an exclusive look at the wonders of Halong Bay. In this small yet luxurious craft, visitors can appreciate the bay’s massive scale, the boat’s red sails dwarfed by the bay’s towering limestone islands.

Built to resemble a traditional Asian junk, the wood-clad Violet features gleaming wooden floors, opulent silks and velvets, and cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the breathtaking views. Guests will find all the amenities they would expect in a larger vessel, including a gym and sauna, a spa with unrivaled views, a restaurant and a lounge, and a rooftop Sundeck. For an intimate experience of Halong Bay, there is nothing to compare to the lovely Violet.

Her Story

Violet is “The Youngest” of the beautiful sisters. She has always secretly been the favorite of her dashing French aristocratic father and petite Vietnamese mother; her parents have always admired the coquettish charm that sets her apart from her older sisters. Named after the delicate purple blossoms that grow on the sides of the rocky islands in Halong Bay, Violet is a charming blend of tenderness, style, and tradition.

Her cabins, with names like Dragon, Moon, and Mountain, conjure up all the mystique of the magical bay, and she loves nothing better than to sit down and tell guests stories about its fascinating age-old customs and traditions. From her French father, Violet has inherited a truly artistic eye, and this sense of all things beautiful is expressed in the exquisite and intimate individuality of her interiors.

She is immensely proud of her French Art-Déco collection, for its aristocratic origins and for how perfectly it blends with the luxurious oriental elegance, making her the true bijoux of Halong Bay.
